As part of a promotion for the movie Resident Evil: Retribution, nearly 30 zombies entered a shopping center in Tokyo, which actually caused some people in the shopping center to cry. The zombies were scary at first and then began handing out promotional fliers about the movie. This is certainly a marketing stunt that made the news.
A news report in Japan reported, “The zombies were marching through the shopping center were incredibly realistic looking and some people in the shopping center clearly had genuine fear – it was quite a spectacle.”
This episode in the movie series Resident Evil, and it tells the story of the T virus that was created by the Umbrella Corporation, and how this virus has gone global and caused the entire world to turn into flesh eating zombies.
The movie still follows the character of Alice as she goes about trying to work out more details about the outbreak. In this movie her search takes her from Tokyo, to Washington DC, to New York and eventually to Moscow. This movie questions everything that was asked in the previous installments, and all that was previously thought to be true might turn out to be false.
As you would expect, this movie has plenty of action and you will see Alice killing zombies all over the place. It is no surprise that this movie is exceptionally violent, as it was originally based on a video game that involved shooting zombies.
One of the most impressive scenes in the movie is a Rolls-Royce being chased through the center of Moscow by zombies who are riding motorcycles. Unlike in the previous movies, the zombies seem to be a bit more active this time, and seem to be able to do more than just lurch forward.
It is no surprise that Alice as the main character has returned, not only because she has been the lead in the last four movies, but also because that the actress who plays her is married to the writer and director of the movie, Paul Anderson.
It was originally thought that the fifth installation would be filmed alongside the sixth, and then the movies would be released relatively close to each other. However, in the end it was decided that this movie should be created and released first to see if people still have an interest in the series. Either way, Mr Anderson has stated that the sixth movie will be the last, even if it is very financially successful.
Other familiar characters are also returning to the production and it is sure to be a firm fan favorite. The movie does, as you might expect, have a rather simplistic plot and it is very much a story of good versus bad. That said, the resident evil movies do tend to get better and better, so let’s hope they’re not disappointed.
