Hereford Films will co-produce ‘The Guv’nor’ a film about bare knuckle fighter Lenny McLean. The project will also be co-produced by Clinton Montague. The CEO of Hereford Films Jonathan Sothcott and Montague are currently in talks with a major UK distributor.
The film will be directed by Clinton Montague who will co-write the script with McLean’s biographer Peter Gerrard.
McLean is believed to have taken part in at least 4,000 bare knuckle fights and also acted as an enforcer in London’s criminal underworld. He appeared in Guy Ritchie’s film “Lock,Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.” Mclean died before the film was released aged only 49.
