Well, that’s one way of dealing with bad reviews.
After months of build-up, Suicide Squad is here! The fans are LOVING it, but the reviews are… well, decidedly mixed – and that’s putting it kindly.
The DC movie has been met with negative write-ups pretty much across the board, and currently has a score of just 35% on Rotten Tomatoes(ouch).
The petition has been signed by nearly 7,000 fans, and accuses the site of publishing “unjust bad reviews… that affects people’s opinion even if it’s a really great [movie]”.
Perhaps taking inspiration from the supervillains depicted on-screen, fans are so annoyed at the verdict that they actually want to shut the site down… yes, really.

Its really sad for fans to do this. Who cares if critics hate this movie if you like it who cares.

That is very true, its the person paying for the ticket that is important not the people who got in for free

I had no idea there was a petition now. I never really take notice of early reviews or still tomato ratings or whatever. I just ignore all that nonsense and go make up my own mind.

Well if we all liked the same movies there would be no variety. So many reviews tend to ignore the ‘enjoyment’ factor.

But…but… doesn’t Rotten Tomatoes just gather individual critics’ reviews? At any rate, fans have every right to be passionate about the films they love, and I bet these filmmakers couldn’t be more pleased by the Fan Love.

Yes Silver Screening I see what you are saying, but these reviews are from people who have seen the movie, at the moment just about all fans have not actually seen it, I think its kind of hard to defend or attack a movie if you have not seen it yourself

Love the gif. Look at the end of the day Rotten Tomatoes is what it is. We all know some good films only get 50-65% on there and some bad films score lower than they should. It’s all part of getting the broad consensus I guess. I don’t really go on the site much. I actually look to critics to give me an indication of the likely quality of the film but RT I’ve never really gotten into. As others have pointed out here, regardless if I’m interested in something, I go and see it for myself and make up my own mind. Once I’ve done that, I could care less what Rotten Tomatoes says.

What??? That is crazy. Can’t believe people are this serious about movies! Oh well…don’t we all take Rotten Tomatoes with “a pinch of salt”? I say they should lighten up and don’t sweat the small stuff 😉
