Daniel Craig’s new TV show Purity won’t stop him coming back for Bond

He’d “rather slash his own wrists”, though.

Right after shooting Spectre, Daniel Craig indicated he might be done with the franchise in an interview with Time Out – but now that he’s had a bit of distance from the movie, his possible return to play 007 is certainly not off the table.

When Craig signed up for 20 episode series Purity, based on a Jonathan Franzen novel which started a bidding war, it looked like he truly would be bidding farewell to Bond again, however.

But Showtime CEO David Nevins said at TCA the two wouldn’t necessarily conflict, should Craig want to get suited up once again.

“It depends when they do the next James Bond movie, but I don’t think it precludes him is the answer,” he said.

“This will largely be completed during the course of 2017, depending how long they’re willing to wait and shoot the next Bond. There might be some breaks somewhere, but [production] will be fairly continuous.”
