This is not an advert this a thirteen minute action movie
It was in 2001, well before the days of YouTube and online streaming, BMW teamed up with some top talent to produce a series of short films. There were eight in total, and they all starred Clive Owen serving as a hired driver behind the wheel of a BMW vehicle. The series would become the inspiration for the much more famous Transporter movies starring Jason Statham.
Each of the films was also helmed by a major director. We’re talking about John Frankenheimer, Ang Lee, Wong Kar Wai, Guy Ritchie, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, John Woo, Joe Carnahan, and Tony Scott. Additionally, the films were produced by David Fincher and brothers Tony and Ridley Scott. Some notable guest appearances across the films included Madonna, Gary Oldman, Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, and even James Brown.
Jude Law has stated that he and his Sherlock Holmes co-star, Robert Downey Jr., want to make a third movie in the series. Law and Downey Jr., who played the roles of Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes respectively in Guy Ritchie’s 2009 film and its 2011 sequel, will reprise their roles in the next film. The films, based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s super sleuth, were both box office hits, making over £615 million ($1 billion) collectively.
The sequel has been scheduled for a 2014 release by Warner Brothers. The film’s script is currently being penned by former television writer Drew Pierce. Pierce has also written the screenplay for the third Iron Man film, also starring Downey Jr..
Despite being on the books, the third Sherlock Holmes has no certain schedule of production. In an interview with Collider, Law stated that the script is being written, but that he does not know when filming will begin. Both he and Downey Jr. have busy schedules working on other projects, but both would like to work together again in a third Holmes film.
Sherlock stars want to team up for third film
Robert Downey Jr. is currently filming for the third Iron Man film, which is to be released in May of 2013. In August, the screen actor had to take time off from filming due to an ankle injury incurred after doing a stunt. Jude Law also has multiple film projects in the works such as The Bitter Pill, a thriller from Steven Soderbergh, and Rise of the Guardians, a CGI animated feature. .
According to IMDB the third movie is listed as in pre-production but only shows the main stars as “rumoured” to be in the movie. And in Hollywood ‘pre-production’ can mean its just an idea that may never happen.
