Star Wars: Return of the Jedi was released in 1983, but that was a ‘last minute’ title change. It seems that George Lucas had fully intended that the title would be ‘Revenge of the Jedi‘
And he got as far as creating a trailer for his upcoming epic before deciding that ‘return’ would be a better way to go.
