Since there are a lot of beautiful, talented and hard-working actresses plying their trade these days, in order to be singled out with praise by the critics it takes both luck and determination, to make that transition from “additional cast” to “also starring” and finally “starring” in the billing.  Amongst the relatively few who have those additional required traits is Zoe Saldana, actress, dancer and all around gorgeous Puerto Rican/Dominican, born in New Jersey but with strong ties to the Dominican Republic.

It is also unusual for a Hollywood personage to reach the age of almost 36 years without at least a little bit of negativity surfacing in the vast sea of media exposure and ‘objective criticism’ – but it appears that Zoe Saldana has managed to do it. Trying to find a denigrating review or even passing remark is hardly worth the effort, unless you count Zoe’s own comments on certain performances that she didn’t particularly enjoy.

For example, though her role as Anamaria in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl with Johnny Depp got her a lot of very positive attention, she later told interviewers that the experience was not one she’d want to repeat, remarking that it was, “Just not my taste.” She said it felt like a Hollywood movie, too big and too stagey. Zoe prefers the more challenging aspects of her craft, including strong female roles provided by directors like James Cameron, J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg.

Zoe has been working seriously on developing into a strong female character herself since the age of ten when the family moved from Passaic to the D. R., her father’s homeland. There she enrolled in the prestigious ECOS Espacio de Danza Academy to study various dance forms including ballet. After seven years the family returned to the U.S., where Zoe quickly got involved with both the New York Youth Theater and Faces, a troupe performing plays dealing with youth issues like sex and drug abuse.

Both acting and dancing abilities led to Zoe’s being chosen for a major role in Center Stage as Eva, a ballet dancer with outstanding talent but an off-putting attitude. Her next major role was in a teen drama called Crossroads, with Britney Spears, then a year later in Drumline opposite Nick Cannon. She appeared in several other films but it was not until 2009, when the reboot of Star Trek directed by J.J. Abrams brought her the role of Lt. Uhura, that Zoe really hit her stride, box office-wise anyway.

Four years later Star Trek: Into Darkness featured Zoe as Uhura again, and proved another resounding success for the still maturing actress. Zoe had even met with Nichelle Nichols, who played Nyota Uhura in the original Star Trek series, to discuss the character and her persona. Zoe said she wanted to portray Uhura as a strong ‘kick-ass’ woman and hopes to develop the character in further Star Trek episodes.

In the meantime she had another hit with James Cameron’s Avatar, also in 2009, playing the main female protagonist Neytiri. That role, says Zoe, was the most challenging so far; she had to learn a new language and her character was non-human, so it was “. . . physically, mentally and spiritually . .. .” a new experience, including an intensive six-month preparation for the role that included horseback riding, archery and martial arts.

According to IMDb, there are at least three more Avatar productions in the works, with Zoe slated as Neytiri in each of them. That ought to give her ample opportunity to grow into and with the unarguably powerful female lead that she prefers to play; it certainly looks as if Zoe Saldana has what it takes.

Zac Efron biography filmography

It’s been a very busy seven years or so for Zachary David Alexander Efron, aka Zac, ever since he burst onto the teen scene in High School Musical back in 2006. Before that big break he was just another good-looking California boy with indisputable talent and supportive parents. Efron was 19 years old when Musical came out to waves of raves from the younger set, though he’d had quite a few other roles leading up to that one.

Now he’s 26 and figures that Bad Neighbors, just released in the UK last week, is the crowning and final episode in the ‘youth’ part of his career. He told a Fox News interviewer this week that he was past that stage in his life – the heavy partying associated with fraternities and pop stars, and the go-to-heck attitude that goes with it. He says, “I knew how to do it right,” but he’s ready for more challenges.

Zac Efron biography filmography

Zac Efron biography filmography

That may have something to do with his stint in rehab last year for alcohol and cocaine abuse; right now he’s into green drinks, literally. He’s drinking his vegetables and cleaning up his act, but he hasn’t lost his sex appeal for a huge fan base, and the fact he’s not on Facebook and said he has no intention of getting on   undoubtedly a terrible blow to a lot of would-be ‘friends’.

If you want to follow Zac Efron’s career, it’s quite diverse and sort of confusing since he keeps changing his on-scene persona in the roles he accepts. Certainly he deserves the term ‘versatile’ for his acting credits, starting at the age of 11 and proceeding with hardly a break to his present status as an award-winning young actor in the Rising Stars To Be Watched category.

It all started in Arroyo Grande, where he graduated high school in 2006 after a commendable academic performance even as he performed on the stage at school and with repertory companies. Shows such as Peter Pan, Gypsy, The Music Man, Little Shop of Horrors and other musicals – remember, this guy can sing, too – brought his talents to the attention of the Disney Studios. With High School Musical 1, 11 and 111 and a remake of Hairspray under his belt, he was confirmed as a musical actor.

That wasn’t enough for Zac; he switched gears with two ‘forgettable’ comedies, 17 Again and New Year’s Eve, then switched to more serious, mature roles in Charlie St. Cloud, The Lucky One and Me and Orson Welles. Then another persona change, more or less back to the teen scene with

That Awkward Moment and Bad Neighbors, both released in 2014, Neighbors just last week.

Bad Neighbors Zac Efron biography filmography

Bad Neighbors Zac Efron biography filmography

Now for another change of pace and persona, he’s taking on a much heavier and older-seeming role that breaks from all the former images he’s projected so winningly. Efron’s next project, according to the latest reports, is a starring role in The Associate, a legal thriller based on John Grisham’s novel about an attorney who’s being blackmailed.

So far there’s little news about that film; most of the current stories are about his Bad Neighbors portrayal of Teddy Sanders, the obnoxiously charming or charmingly obnoxious co-ringleader in a houseful of  Delta Psi party animals. But, he says, he’s ready for the next step. As for Zac’s private life, he has commented that we won’t marry until he’s forty, if then.

That may still be the case, but according to Forbes magazine, Zac has rather dramatically shut the door on one chapter of his life, that of the Hollywood bad boy. At least that’s the way it appears, as he sold his ‘pad’ in the Hollywood Hills, with its infinity pool, heated floors and wall-to-wall windows in one of the most coveted locations.

Only two bedrooms and 2.5 baths but, it went for just over $2.75 million, so he could afford the new $4 million home in Los Feliz. Even so, Hollywood can expect to see a lot more of Zac Efron as he forges ahead in yet another career direction, this time as the beleaguered but indomitable young attorney, no parties allowed.

What next for Zac Efron?

Goodfellas Robert De Niro Biography

Robert De Niro was born in 1943 in Greenwich Village New York. At age two his father left for Europe to paint and as a result De Niro was raised mainly by his mother Virginia Admiral. De Niro. He got the acting bug when he was ten and played the Cowardly Lion in his school production of ‘The Wizard of Oz.’

For a short time De Niro went to the Dramatic Workshop where his mum was employed as a typist but he quit at age 16 and did some running with a street gang. His name in the gang was Bobby Milk. By age 18 he had wised up and started training with actress Shelley Winters

.Robert De Niro Biography Mean Streets

In 1965 he had his first moment on screen in a walk-in part in the 1965 film ‘Trois Chambre A Manhattan.’ At the same time he went around New York City with a composite headshot that featured him as a business executive, old, man, and cab driver so that he did not end up being cast strictly in Italian roles.

He finally broke through when he started to get into feature film parts from director Brian De Palma who offered De Niro $50 for each role he received.
De Niro’s first film with De Palma came in 1967 in the ‘The Wedding Party’ which was basically a comedy about couple having trouble on the way to their nuptials. Although he filmed in 1967, the film did not end up getting released until 1969

The Wedding Party

As a result the first time that De Niro was seen on screen ended up being in 1968 in the film ‘Greetings.’ During 1969 De Niro also landed his first leading role in the indie New York film ‘Sam’s Son’. He shortly thereafter went back to De Palma for a role in ‘Hi Mom!’ which saw him playing a Vietnam Vet for the second time. After that he had roles in three films that were basically just small forgettable footnotes in what became a long life in film.

Greetings

In the early seventies most of De Niro’s roles were simply about getting on stage, but suddenly he found himself actually receiving feedback from film critics in 1973 for his role as a slow baseball player with Hodgkin’s disease in ‘Bang The Drum Slowly.’ His tear-jerking performance got him noticed and it was only up from here. During the same year he also took on the role of Johnny Boy in ‘Mean Streets’ and if people were not looking at De Niro before they were now. This was the first of many film collaborations with Martin Scorsese and the breakthrough role that made him a household name.

Of course, it was 1974 when De Niro managed to nail the title of the best actor to come out of his generation when he took on the role of young Vito Corleone in ‘The Godfather Part II.’ De Niro went to great lengths to make sure that he fit the role and was rewarded with an Academy Award for his efforts. It is interesting to note that De Niro and Marlon Brando who played the older Vito Corleone are the only actors in the history of the Academy’s to win an Oscar for the same movie role.
The Godfather Part II

He went on from his role in ‘The Godfather Part II’ to another stunning role that possibly scarred many who watched the film ‘Taxi Driver.’ In the film he played a cab driver that kills scumbags but ends up saving a young prostitute.

De Niro perfectly painted the picture of a man about crack on the fringes of society and coined one of the most popular catchphrase’s of all time by accident. At one point in the film De Niro improvised a monologue and spit out the question ‘You Talkin’ to Me’ and from there the rest became history.
‘You Talkin’ to Me’

Working on ‘Mean Streets’ and ‘Taxi Driver’ together bonded De Niro and Scorsese and the pair worked on quite a few additional films together including ‘Raging Bull,’ ; ‘New York, New York,’ ‘Cape Fear,’ ‘Goodfellas,’ and ‘Casino.’ In addition the two also worked together on ‘Shark Tale’ and ‘Guilty By Suspicion.’

De Niro’s next big role came in 1976 when he starred in ‘The Last Tycoon’ and further established the fact that he was willing to do anything to be a top actor. For the role De Niro lost almost forty pounds and rehearsed non-stop. At the time director Elia Kazan commented that he was a meticulous character actor driven to succeed. Whereas other stars would be playing tennis on Sundays Bobby would be going over scenes. The film did poorly at theatres but received critical praise. He followed up this film with ‘The Deer Hunter’ in 1978 earning another Academy nod.

In the eighties De Niro’s film roles took a turn as he started to fear that he was being typecast into mob roles. As a result he took on more comedic roles and some roles that were very much out of the box following his role as a Jewish mobster in ‘Once Upon A Time in America.’ He starred in ‘True Confessions’ at the start of the decade with Robert Duvall and then gave a perfect performance as an obsessive and over eager young comedian in ‘The King of Comedy.’ Although the film was a flop, it is now considered to be an iconic performance by De Niro.

Other odd ball roles in the eighties included the chic flick ‘Falling In Love,’ the one-off cameo in ‘Brazil,’ the lead role of a slave trader in ‘The Mission,’ and as a seedy pimp in ‘Angel Heart.’ A bright spot in the decade was his role as Al Capone in ‘The Untouchables’ proving against his best attempts that he truly did perform at his best when placed in the role of a mobster.

The Untouchables

Moving into the nineties De Niro was cast in a series of forgettable films including ‘Stanley and Iris,’ Jacknife,’ ‘Awakenings,’ ‘Guilty By Suspicion,’ ‘Backdraft,’ and ‘We’re No Angels’ but found redemption with his choice to take on ‘Goodfellas’ with his old pal Martin Scorsese. It seemed that no matter how hard De Niro fought it, he was made to play a mobster in Hollywood, but typecast or not he excelled every single time and cast alongside Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci he was engaging and captivating for the entire length of the film.

Untouchables_Robert De Niro Biography

One of the reasons that De Niro likely took on such a wide assortment of roles in the nineties is because he was simply looking for a quick payday to finance his own TriBeCa Film Center which was home to TriBeCa Films and became the production center of New York. He produced a few films in the early nineties including ‘Mistress’ and ‘Thunderheart’ both in 1992. During the same year he also started in the ‘Night and the City’.

In 1993 De Niro finally tried out his hand at directing making his directorial debut with ‘A Bronx Tale’ the story of a young boy torn between following the life his hard working father modeled for him and the good life modeled by the neighborhood crime boss. The film flopped at the box office but was praised by critics. After a series of modest and disappointing roles in the early nineties De Niro finally managed to win back audiences with his role in ‘Heat’ alongside Al Pacino. He played a master thief being chased by Pacino and created two hours of action packed drama.

De Niro spent the last half of the nineties in odd roles that were a mixture of leads and supporting roles in films such as ‘Marvin’s Room,’ ‘Sleepers,’ ‘The Fan,’ ‘Cop Land,’ ‘Wag The Dog,’ ‘Great Expectations,’ ‘Ronin,’ ‘Flawless.’ In the midst of these mediocre roles De Niro did manage to shine surprisingly in the comedy ‘Analyze This’ opposite Billy Crystal as a mobster looking for help coping with anxiety attacks. As a mobster, De Niro simply always shines with whatever material he is given.

Meet the Parents’ Robert De Niro Biography

Kicking off the 2000s De Niro chose to stay in comedy playing a CIA agent unhappy with his new son-in-law in the ‘Meet the Parents’ franchise and became a household name for a new generation of fans that perceived him as a comedian. He also took time in the early 2000s for a few psychological thrillers including ‘The Score’ and ‘15 Minutes.’ Although he had a few flops such as ‘Showtime’ and ‘Analyze That’ his main effort was on kicking off the TriBeCa Film Festival. It was worth his time and energy as the first festival was a startling success and over the years has grown to be one of the largest festivals in Hollywood.

Meet the Parents’

He spent the mid-2000s in a series of hit and miss roles and then took another stab at directing with the 2007 film ‘The Good Shepherd’ starring Angelina Jolie and Matt Damon. The film was very detailed and precise but was said to be too paced out turning an alluring film into something that more closely resembled a documentary. De Niro then moved onto a few more odd roles including ‘Stardust,’ ‘Extras’ and ‘Watch Just Happened?’ He rounded out the 2000s with roles in ‘Everybody’s Fine,’ ‘Machete,’ ‘Limitless,’ and ‘Killer Elite.’ His most successful role was likely his reprise as Jack Byrnes in ‘Meet the Fockers.’

In 2011 following ‘Limitless’ De Niro took role in ‘New Year’s Eve’ which was largely a flop and then took on roles in ‘Freelancers’ and ‘Red Lights’ which were both modest thrillers in their own rights. In 2012 he played Jonathan Flynn in the biographic ‘Being Flynn’ and received critical praise once again although the film was not widely seen. He followed up the small film with a larger role in ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ which earned him yet another Academy nod.

Queer as Folk Biography Nathan Maloney, Charlie Hunnam

An actor who can become just about any character the script calls for is automatically dubbed ‘versatile’ or ‘many-faceted’ or some other term that indicates a breadth of acting abilities. In the case of Charlie Hunnam, yet another term may need to be coined, but we haven’t thought of it yet. For now, suffice it to say that Charlie gets into a role so convincingly that some of his reversals are downright dizzying.

Queer as Folk Biography Nathan Maloney, Charlie Hunnam

Queer as Folk Biography Nathan Maloney, Charlie Hunnam

At the age of 33, Hunnam appears to be nowhere near the apex of his acting career; currently he’s deeply involved with (and mostly recognized for) ‘The Sons of Anarchy’ going into its seventh season on FX Networks, but his other credits are interesting to say the least. One role that offers a lot of food for thought and roused considerable speculation was that of Nathan Maloney in ‘Queer As Folk’.

Queer as Folk Biography Nathan Maloney, Charlie Hunnam

Queer as Folk Biography Nathan Maloney, Charlie Hunnam

The British drama series ran on Channel 4 for only ten episodes beginning in 1999, when Charlie was 18 years old.  It was his first major role, and certainly a ground-breaking event, both for television and for the career of a burgeoning actor. The show’s premise involved a very good-looking, naïve young man (Nathan Maloney) who is drawn into the gay scene around Manchester’s Canal Street, one of the U.K.’s famous openly gay communities.

Queer as Folk Biography Nathan Maloney, Charlie Hunnam

Queer as Folk Biography Nathan Maloney, Charlie Hunnam

‘Queer As Folk’ was perhaps a strange (and definitely queer) vehicle for Hunnam, since his prior roles in no way indicated that he might fall naturally into the part. The series aired at a time when gays were really starting to ‘come out’ and be acknowledged as a visible, living part of British social and private life, and its overt and unapologetic treatment of the gay life at that time met with widely varying reactions.

Queer as Folk Biography Nathan Maloney, Charlie Hunnam

Queer as Folk Biography Nathan Maloney, Charlie Hunnam

The story is about a gay couple, Vince and Stuart, two very dissimilar types who attract each other as opposites often do. Stuart (Aidan Gillen) is the confident, brazen hustler of young men like Nathan who are brand new to the scene and immensely vulnerable to his charm. Vince Tyler (played by Craig Kelly) is his relatively square best buddy and roommate. Enter Nathan, 15 years old and a virgin in just about every way, but one who learns very fast.

Charlie-Hunnam-Green-Street-

Charlie-Hunnam-Green-Street-

Nathan falls hard for Stuart’s charms (including his love-making) and initially he’s the one pursuing the gay cavalier  – Stuart considers him  just another conquest and easily forgotten. However, it doesn’t work out that way; in a foreshadowing of later episodes, Nathan says that six months in the future Stuart will be the one begging for a relationship that means much more than a one-night-stand. Indeed, as the series continues, all three of the main characters have to re-evaluate their lives and choices.

Queer as Folk Biography Nathan Maloney, Charlie Hunnam

Some of the scenes from this extremely well-written script by Russell T. Davies are quite graphic in terms of sexuality amongst gay males, and Charlie Hunnam is utterly believable as the impressionable youngster who rapidly gains self-confidence and with it a different perspective on his own actions and that of the experienced and self-centered older man who orchestrates his initiation into the gay life.

Queer as Folk Biography Nathan Maloney, Charlie Hunnam

In one interview about his role in ‘Queer As Folk’ Charlie reported being accosted on the subway by a man who said he “ought to be ashamed” of his performance, but that has never worried him.  He said if some people object to him playing the part of a gay man, that’s their problem, not his. The actor has noted in several interviews that he’s got plenty of time to make money; he’s determined to accept only those roles that he feels meet his personal standards.

Anyone watching Charlie Hunnam as Nathan in ‘Queer As Folks’ and then seeing his performance as Jax in ‘Sons of Anarchy’ might have a little difficulty reconciling the sexual preferences portrayed – but no problem at all recognizing his physical magnetism and serious acting talent. In fact when Hunnam was picked for the role of Christian Grey, he said ‘Queer As Folk’ was excellent background for the role of dominating male with a willing female sex slave. Nathan Maloney was certainly an unforgettable character, and Charlie Hunnam can be expected to inhabit many more unforgettable characters in roles to come.

Jennifer Ehle Fifty Shades of Grey star Biography

Truly a bi-national, Jennifer Ehle has spent about half her life in the U.S. and half in the U.K., not surprising since her Mom is a British actress and her Dad an American writer. Jennifer’s home town is Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where she was born in 1969, but she’s just as familiar with London (and Hollywood) as with the American southeast.

Ehle is a veteran of both stage and screen, and more than once she and her mother, Rosemary Harris, have been cast in the same film and been nominated for the same award. At 44 Jennifer has quite a lot of experience in the acting business, so her role in the eagerly awaited and much-discussed film Fifty Shades of Grey isn’t nearly as surprising as some of the other cast members – though the subject/plot isn’t her usual fare either.

Jennifer’s first West End appearance was in the 1991 production of Tartuffe directed by Peter Hall, and subsequently (in 1992) Hall chose her for the role of Calypso in a mini-series called The Camomile Lawn, in which her mother on screen was played by her real mother Rosemary.

It was 1995, when Jennifer was 26, that she played Elizabeth Bennett opposite Colin Firth in the BBC TV presentation of Pride and Prejudice adapted from the novel by Jane Austin. For that performance she received the coveted BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) award and that is probably the role most familiar to the over-30 TV generation.

Ehle’s first feature film role was in Paradise Road, a 1997 movie starring Glenn Close that didn’t make many headlines. Jennifer continued to alternate between stage and screen, (both small and large screens) with the next big success in 2000, on Broadway, as Annie in Tom Stoppard’s highly praised and award-winning play The Real Thing.

Jennifer’s performance in that play earned her first Tony award, for which her competition included Rosemary Harris – but the Emcee apparently had it right when he said before announcing the winner that mother and daughter each wanted the other to win. There is clearly a supportive attitude on the part of both actresses when it comes to family.

Jennifer has also appeared at the Old Vic with Kevin Spacey in The Philadelphia Story and at Shakespeare in the Park as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, but it wasn’t until 2007 that she received her second Tony award. That one was for another Tom Stoppard production, The Coast of Utopia, at the Lincoln Center in New York. The play got a lot of critical acclaim, with Jennifer one of the most highly praised cast members, playing three different characters in the drama.

Other roles, as the speech therapist’s wife in The King’s Speech (2010) where her Pride and Prejudice co-star Colin Firth had the starring role, as Dr. Ally Hextall in Contagion, as a CIA agent in Zero Dark Thirty and as Liz Kline in the 2014 remake of Robocop may or may not have led to her being cast in a rather peripheral role in Fifty Shades, but obviously she auditioned for the part, and got it.

Now that filming for the movie is completed, audiences will just have to wait – for quite a while – to see the final result. There has been no widely published comment from Jennifer (or anyone else really) about the picture, though the rumour is that there will be two versions, one with a U.S. ‘R’ rating and one to be released a couple of weeks later with a rating of NC-17. Based on past performance, we don’t expect to see much of Jennifer Ehle in the U.S. NC-17 version, but the publicity can’t be bad for her future career.

Dakota Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey Star, Biography

DAKOTA JOHNSON, FIFTY SHADES OF GREY STAR,

DAKOTA JOHNSON, FIFTY SHADES OF GREY STAR,

Becoming an acclaimed actor or actress is the ultimate goal for countless millions of young people in all walks of life; attaining that goal is another matter, and relatively few aspiring thespians ever do so.

A surprising number of famous and semi-famous actors never even had such a goal – ‘celebrity’ just happened because of some combination of innate talent and fortuitous circumstances.

In the case of Dakota Johnson, it’s still hard to say how things will develop, but there is little doubt that her role in Fifty Shades of Grey will have a substantial impact on her career. Even though the film isn’t due for release until February of next year (2015), speculation and analysis is rife amongst those who keep close track of events in the film industry.

Born in Austin, Texas in 1989 to parents who are both well known in the industry, Dakota was familiar early on with celebrity and its often negative impact on those in the spotlight. Her father is Don Johnson (best known for his starring role in the popular 1980’s TV series ‘Miami Vice’), her mother is Melanie Griffith, an actress with a quite a history of her own.

Dakota Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey Star, Biography

Dakota Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey Star, Biography

Stories and gossip about her family were a burden during Dakota’s school years; she has recently revealed that other kids made sure she heard about every misstep taken by a volatile Mom and a TV sex-symbol Dad with an on-again-off-again marriage. She said her schoolmates used to present her with pictures and articles from tabloids that featured one or both of her parents misbehaving, to her embarrassment and chagrin.

Dakota actually made her film debut at the age of ten in Crazy in Alabama, in which she and her half sister Stella Banderas played the daughters of their real life mother, Melanie. The film received little notice at the time, but her early career as a model flourished during her high school years.

Dakota’s first notable film appearance was a scene with Justin Timberlake in Social Network, the movie that garnered eight Oscar nominations and won Best Picture in 2010. She was cast in a number of films after that, including a feature film based on the TV show ’21 Jump Street’ (she was one of the “Miley Cyrus-lookin” gals in a high school undercover operation), and several others nobody much recalls. She also co-starred in the short-lived Fox TV series ‘Ben and Kate”.

Now she’s got the role of Anastasia Steele opposite Jamie Dornan in Fifty Shades of Grey. She will be the focal character of the movie, along with Dornan, and fortunately (according to inside sources) the two work well together. However it remains to be seen whether the sexual tension and eroticism described in the book will come across that way on screen.

The fact that Dakota isn’t a big name in films up to this point only increases the interest in her performance as the sexual plaything of a very wealthy, arrogant (and quite charming) man who for reasons of his own is a sensual sadist – or a sadistic sensualist, but you get the idea. Her character is a naïve young woman who is initially intimidated and soon subjugated (with her permission) by the powerful, enigmatic Mr. Grey.

Since more than 100 million people have bought the book version, written by E.L. James and first published in Australia in 2011 then in the U.S. in 2012, the producers expect a good turnout at theatres.
If the internet buzz is anything to judge by, there will be more than enough publicity to insure that Dakota – and the rest of the cast – all get a good share of a large spotlight
